As a part of Samudra setu programme, second ship of Indian navy has left for Kochi in Kerala from Maldives. AIR correspondent reports that INS Magar is expected to reach Kochi by tomorrow evening carrying 202 Indian nationals including 24 women and two children. One of the person had a fractured leg and special arrangements were made for his safe embarkation and travel.
All safety precautions were in place as the evacuees were screened medically and their baggage disinfected before journey commenced. Earlier, INS Jalashwa had reached Kochi yesterday bringing back 698 people from Maldives. Both ships, part of Samudrasetu program, are scheduled to return to Male for further evacuation and next lot of people are to be ferried to Tuticorin in Tamilnadu.
